Jobvite | 2014
Intro: One of my favorite projects at Jobvite was Smart Scheduler, a scheduling tool that helps users schedule multiple interviews by automating much of the process.
Role: I was the lead Interaction Designer on Jobvite's Smart Scheduler Projet.
Goal: The recruiter will obtain available times from the interviewee and subsequently schedule multiple interviewers with their busy schedules amidst companies conflicting resources. Our goal was to reduce the burden on recruiters by reducing some of the complexity involved in scheduling multiple interviewers. The tool automatically schedules employees for candidate interviews based on availability.
Methodology: I began with a competitive audit to better understand what was currently being done in this space and identify opportunities to innovate. At the same time, we as a team began to brainstorm and visualize what available options.
Through these brainstorming sessions, I formed user stories with the product owner and created personas to help direct the team. I interviewed stakeholders to understand the scope and used user flows to understand complexity. I created an initial design and then tested it with customers to identify weaknesses. I worked with a front end engineer to create a prototype prior to evaluating the prototype with fifteen customers, each time making subtle changes. After a further design revision, I evaluated the design and captured the responses.
